Seit 6 Jahren im Heimwerkereinsatz saugt der Mini Alles weg: Vom feinsten Staub bis zu den größten Brocken, die noch durch den Schlauch passen, bis hin zum Aquariumwasser, wenn es mal auf dem Parkett gelandet ist. Die Staubbeutel halten lange durch und der Sauger lässt erst in der Kraft nach, wenn der voll ist. Besonders praktisch ist die Steckdose am Gerät, mit der man auch automatisch den Sauger starten kann.Schlauch und Anschlusskabel liegen beim Transport gut in der Ablage. Auf dem Gerät kann man Zubehör- oder Geräte-Systainer festschnallen und so größere Pakete packen und gemeinsam transportieren.
Das Gerät ist relativ teuer - aber auch eine wertige Anschaffung, mit der es immer wieder Spaß macht zu arbeiten.

This is a review of the Festool CTL mini dust extractor / vacuum cleaner.I bought the CTL mini in April 2006 together with a Festool circular saw and router, so I have now a few years experience with these. I am a DIYer who does not use shop tools daily, but say monthly to make things myself. I use the dust extractor in combination with a Festool circular saw and router, but also as standalone vacuum cleaner. My experience so far is as follows:
Pros:
- Build quality is good.
- Very compact; you can also nicely store systainers (Festool tool boxes) on top of it, although then the stored hose cannot be accessed anymore.
- Many accessories available.
- CTL mini is reasonably priced (but its accessories are not).
- Although the hose can be rolled up and stored in the machine (a big plus), this requires some care and attention since the space for it is small.
- Automatic swith on / delayed witch off, synchronised with power tools. Very neat. Has also a manual ('always on') setting.
- Good dust extraction, all the way until the bag is full.
- Opening of hose is made of flexible rubber, so adapting it to non-Festool size equipment or other accessories / adapters should be easy.
Cons:
- Accessories are expensive, especially the hose-with-built-in-electric-cord (very handy, but 100 euro's!). Also for this price, I would expect to get at least a mouth piece with it (no).
- The only thing this small dust extractor misses (compared to the larger ones) is the ability to mount a metal vertical bar to hold the hose in a higher position. This would come in handy while using the saw / router / etc. at table height.
Bottom line:
Quality product, lots of functionality, works flawlessy together with power tools. Only minus is that Festool accessories are expensive, but I see no problem in combining the CTL mini with non-Festool products and accessories. Recommended.

Der Sauger taugt wirklich nur für Staubabsaugung von Schleifgeräten. Ich besitze ihn seit einigen Jahren und bin entäuscht von der Saugleistung! Für soviel Geld kann man mehr erwarten. Die teuren Absaugbeutel die schon bei 70 % (Füllung) keine Saugleistung mehr erbringen möchte ich gar nicht erwähnen. 1 Pluspunkt der Sauger passt Farblich zu den restlichen Festoolgeräten! Welche anderen Artikel kaufen Kunden, nachdem sie diesen Artikel angesehen haben?
